Cool French Visitors, Hot American Cars

Seven fantastic American sports cars cruised into Lake Arrowhead Oct. 11, transporting French travelers on a tour of California. The visitors on the 10-day trip began in Los Angeles, went south to San Diego, and stopped for lunch in Lake Arrowhead, before continuing to Las Vegas. From there, their itinerary included San Francisco, Death Valley and returning to Los Angeles.

Provider GT Cruising and SoCal Frenchiez Automative organized the tour and made a variety of sports cars available to the group, including a black and gold Shelby GT-H; a white Porsche 911 Carrera; a bright yellow Chevrolet Camaro SS convertible with a black top; a couple of Mustang GTs; and a red-hot Chevy Corvette.

Ron Riggs of Riggs Realty Group in Redondo Beach described himself as “the boss,” and Gerry Blyenberg was the bi-lingual organizer and tour guide.

Blyenberg has been arranging tours for 10 years, and divides his time between Los Angeles and France. He has been running the Provider GT Cruising tours with American sports car tours for the past four years. Blyenberg said that he put Lake Arrowhead on the itinerary specifically because the area is so beautiful and the village is charming.

Parisians included Muriel and Philippe Rames; Françoise and Marc Moreau; Jean François Hagen; and several others. The village of Acy-en-Multien was represented by Claude and Chrystelle Gobet and Benjamin Fleury. Angel Gutierrez came from Bordeaux, while several others remained anonymous, cool and very French.
