Sherlock Holmes On Stage

The Adventure of the Speckled Band is one of the most famous short stories of the Sherlock Holmes adventures written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. What few of us know is how this short story made its way to the theatre.

In February 1910, Conan Doyle took a six-month lease on a theatre for a new play. The play wasn’t the financial success he had hoped for. King Edward the VII died and all the play houses closed for a month.

Conan Doyle took this opportunity to rework his short story, The Adventure of the Speckled Band, turning it into a full three-act play.

The Tudor House Players have recreated this play using Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s script as is.

This all-mountain cast is directed by Jeff Heisler, Assistant Director Gaye Heisler and Producer David Heisler, and features:

• Sherlock Holmes: Richard Lavin

• Dr Watson: Phil Simmons

• Billy: Edward “Wolf” Auer

• Dr Grimesby Rylott: David Heisler

• Ali: Alva Loomis

• Rodgers: Armand H LeSage
